This is a review of the Starbucks by Nespresso Italian Roast coffee produced by Nespresso. The coffee used in this roast is 100% arabicas and there is 5.6 grams of coffee per capsule and it can be brewed as either an espresso or lungo size cup. The box does not have an intensity level rating, but it is in the range of 10-12 and probably level 11 intensity.

I bought this 5 pack from Amazon; when I purchased they were $0.60 a capsule, but now the price has risen to $0.72 a capsule. Regardless, the price is reasonable, and if you shop around you might find them at a lower price. They were packed very nicely in a thick strong cardboard outer box; so I doubt that they would ever be damaged in shipping.

The Starbucks by Nespresso Italian Roast has a slightly smoky and almost butter like aromas to it and is very nice! The crema is medium dark, and light with small bubbles.

Wow, I’m glad I got 5 boxes of these! The Starbucks by Nespresso Italian Roast is a very powerful roast; intense but yet very smooth drinking. It has a very peppery like taste, and is sweet and lightly bitter on the tongue. It’s very nice. It’s reminding me of Dharkan, but slightly different. I definitely don’t think coffee is a replacement for Dharkan, it’s just not as good as Dharkan. It has a very good mouthfeel; not as thick as Dharkan or Kazaar, but still thick.

On a second day, I tried brewing this as a lungo size cup. There was a lot more crema and taste of the coffee was still strong with peppery notes and still very nice tasting; although, I think it’s better as an espresso size cup.

The Starbucks by Nespresso Italian Roast is an awesome alternative to the standard Nespresso coffees and I suggest you try some of them out. Right now, I consider the Italian Roast is one of the best Starbucks by Nespresso coffee available. If you like intense roasts, then this may become your most favorite Starbucks by Nespresso coffee.
