Introduction

I recently purchased a Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming 3 motherboard from Amazon and also a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU. The Ryzen 5 1600 comes with a Wraith Spire Cooler, which I wrote about in another article, but I still wanted to be able to use my Noctua NH-U12P SE2 cooler that I bought back in 2012 for my ASUS M4A88T-M motherboard and AMD Phenom II x6 1100T CPU.

This article is about the NM-AM4 mounting kit for Noctua coolers and how to obtain one.

With Existing Compatible Noctua Cooler

If you have an existing Noctua cooler and it is one of the compatible ones, then you can simply fill in an online form with proof of purchase of the cooler and Ryzen CPU. This was my case, and I had a existing (discontinued) Noctua (NH-U12P SE2) cooler and a purchase order from Amazon for a Gigabyte AM4 motherboard and Ryzen 5 CPU. I simply filled in the form and they mailed the mounting kit to me, and I received it within 2 weeks.

Incompatible Noctua Coolers

For those coolers that are not compatible, you can then order from Amazon or Newegg. Check this link for which ones that are compatible.
